Why the name? Why Alpha390?
The name reflects how we work. “Alpha” is about leading from the front and taking ownership of the outcome. The “390” captures our approach to every client: we take a full 360° view of your situation — your goals, your circumstances and the lenders best suited to you — and then we add the extra 30°, that final 10% of effort and attention that turns a good finance outcome into the right one. A 360° understanding plus that additional 30° is how we arrive at Alpha390.
A finance brokerage built on dealership and bank-side experience
Alpha390 Finance began in 2014, founded as Alpha Financial Services by Doug Taylor and Michael Gleeson — two finance professionals who had spent years on the dealership and bank side of the industry and understood exactly how lenders assess and approve finance. The business was relaunched around 2017, and in 2020 the partnership split, with Doug continuing the brokerage under Five Tees Pty Ltd. That combination of bank-side credit knowledge and hands-on dealership experience still shapes how we structure every application today.
Led by Doug Taylor — over 30 years of Australian finance experience
Doug Taylor has worked in Australian finance for more than three decades. He began his career with Westpac in 1993 and went on to hold finance roles across major automotive brands including Mercedes-Benz, Toyota and Daimler Trucks, giving him a deep understanding of both consumer and commercial asset finance. Doug holds a Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking and is a member of the Finance Brokers Association of Australia (FBAA #M-327511).
Alpha390 operates from offices in Underwood, Brisbane, with three brokers and an Authorised Credit Representative writing finance under our Australian Credit Licence, supported by a back-office team.
